We sat down and thought this one out for a while. We can't think of a single website format that wouldn't benefit from a quality, threaded discussion forum.

Connect with your customers and clients through a support and suggestions community. Build a member base, and use the forum as a stage for business announcements, sales, new services. Take suggestions from forum members regarding your products or services. Set up a help and support discussion for use and applications. There are too many possibilities to go over here, but give it a minute and see how it could apply to your business.

Non-profits, community groups
This one is self explanitory. You can't go without a discussion forum to present and discuss the issues. Announce events, plan for the future, collaborate.

Health care practitioners
Present news and current events in the health community as they pertain to your practice. Nothing says you care like keeping your patients up to date on health. You might also consider a blog formate for this.

Government, Education
Again, self explanitory. Both are centered around community support and participation.
